Seekins Precision Rail Buyer's Guide

As a Seekins Precision dealer, I thought I'd throw out a quick "buyer's guide" for AR-15 owners trying to decide which Seekins rail system to purchase and install.  This is based on my experience installing and using all three of their models, but everyone's needs are different, and your mileage may vary.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Seekins rails do not come with a proprietary wrench.  They are designed to be installed with a crow's foot sized 1-1/8" for the MCSR and SP3R, or 1-1/4" (no thicker than 1/2") for the NOXS.

The MCSR V2: Aptly named, the Modular Combat Suppressor Rail V2 offers a 1.8-inch inner diameter, giving users the ability to extend their rail over top of their suppressor, protecting the shooter from suppressor burn.  This set up also allows the user to run a full-length rail (15 inches) without having to choose between rail length and overall length on a CQB-length, suppressed rifle.  If you don't need to fit a suppressor underneath, but still prefer a slightly larger rail, the 2-inch outer diameter might be for you.  Despite the larger diameter, the MCSR weighs less than a 1 lb. (for the 15-inch model) with installation hardware.

The NOXs: If you don't need to run a suppressor, want a thinner/lighter handguard, or just want a slightly simpler installation, the NOXs rail is for you.  Weighing in at only 11.8 oz. for the 15-inch rail, the NOXs is perfect for duty or competition use. In my opinion, the NOXs is a little simpler to install than the MCSR, as there is no need to line up the hole for the gas tube to pass through.  Simply torque the nut to the included specs, slide on the rail, and torque two bolts.  Install complete.

The SP3R V3: If you took the MCSR and flattened it into a triangle, you'd have the SP3R.  Designed as a long-range precision/3-gun handguard, the SP3R features a flat bottom for use on barricade or other improvised shooting positions.  Installs exactly the same as the MCSR, but will not go over a suppressor.  While I like it a lot on my competition gun, it may not be for everyone, as it does feel a little it bulkier than the MCSR.  If you're looking for a very stable rail, though, Seekins has got you covered with this one.
